How to find construction project leads without drowning in data
A practical framework for moving from broad project discovery to evidence-led qualification.
Start with the work you can win
The best search does not begin with a database filter. It begins with your commercial reality: product fit, geography, project stage, contract value, route to specification and capacity to deliver.
Use more than one public signal
Planning applications reveal intent, but not every opportunity begins or ends there. Tender notices, consultant appointments, contractor updates, local authority papers and construction news can reveal timing, organisations and changes in direction.
Qualify before it enters the pipeline
For every candidate, ask whether it matches your market, whether there is a credible route in, what evidence supports it and what the next action should be. If those questions cannot be answered, it may be a record—but it is not yet an opportunity.
Protect sales time
Keep research and qualification upstream of the CRM. Salespeople should open a record to find the relevant evidence, organisations and next step—not begin another open-ended search.
